The different colours correspond to different levels of electrical activity. The image comes as part of a project that began in 2005 to create a computer model of our entire brain, so neuroscience research can be carried out in silico. The project was originally scheduled for completion in 10 years - do you think we’ll see a whole-brain model by 2015?
